Following recent speculation about the potential involvement of the classic artist Anita Ward and her 1979 hit track Ring My Bell in Grand Theft Auto 6, Ward' management has stepped forward with a statement denying at least some of the allegations.

This announcement comes after fans noticed a GTA 6 logo appearing next to the song on Ward's Spotify page, leading many to believe that Ring My Bell would either be used in the game's second trailer or be included in one of the game's radio stations.

However, Ward's representatives have confirmed that these changes were made without their knowledge or consent, effectively debunking the rumors.

In what many describe as a "poorly worded" official statement on Spotify, Ward's team addressed the situation, stating, "All rumors and predictions about the song are unfounded. This is the only official and correct explanation." Furthermore, it highlighted that while there are no current official agreements or negotiations with Rockstar Games, it doesn't dismiss the possibility of future collaborations.

It's worth noting that artists' pages on Spotify can indeed be the victim of unauthorized changes. It's an ongoing problem that could and has led to confusion and misinformation. In this case, it appears Ward and her team may have been hacked and/or caught off guard by the changes made to her Spotify page.

Despite this clarification, some still believe that Ward's music will be part of the game or its marketing materials — possibly just not in the second trailer or the radio stations.

For now, though, we can file matter this alongside previous rumors like 50 Cent's supposed involvement in GTA 6 only for it to turn out to be for a completely different project.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently in development for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X with Rockstar Games eyeing a 2025 release. According to the latest rumors, Sony is preparing to market the PS5 Pro as the go-to platform for GTA 6.
