Exciting new Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks have surfaced thanks to a reputable insider in the GTA community known as Michael (no, not that Michael), or LegacyKillaHD on X (formerly Twitter). In early September, Michael revealed a host of intriguing details that have fans buzzing with anticipation — which, most recently, Rockstar may have inadvertently confirmed by way of copyright strike.

According to Michael, GTA 6 is shaping up to be an expansive, immersive experience, with a sprawling open world full of side quests and exploration opportunities. Few surprises there. More interesting is that while the game's world is vast, the main story is reportedly shorter than Red Dead Redemption 2. Still, it promises a more realistic narrative, focusing on family struggles and the underworld of crime.

One of the most exciting revelations is that GTA 6 draws inspiration from the iconic and popular Fast & Furious franchise, which makes sense due to the thematic similarities between the two IPs. Michael hints at a mission reminiscent of the iconic vault chase scene from Fast & Furious 5, offering players a thrilling, high-stakes experience.

As previously confirmed, the story will feature two protagonists, Lucia and Jason, each with their own introductory missions—similar to Trevor, Michael, and Franklin in GTA 5. However, Lucia is expected to take center stage, playing a more prominent role than Jason. The game will also feature corrupt cops and government officials as players navigate a criminal underworld.

Another key takeaway is the inclusion of gameplay mechanics that previously appeared in Red Dead Redemption 2, but not GTA 5. Since Red Dead Redemption 2 was built on the RAGE 8 engine (originally designed for GTA 5), it's likely Rockstar used it to test new features for GTA 6, which will be built on the more advanced RAGE 9 engine.

In an interesting turn of events, YouTuber CYBER BOI was hit with a copyright strike by Take-Two Interactive after discussing these leaks. Although the exact reason for the strike remains unclear, it raises questions about how closely Rockstar is guarding information as the game's release approaches. It's possible that the company is cracking down to prevent further speculation from spreading.

Another X account, GTAVI_Countdown, which shares updates and rumors about GTA 6, also received a DMCA takedown from Take-Two Interactive. The account believes this action "confirms" the legitimacy of the leaks, though it's important to remain cautious with such claims.

Despite the copyright strikes, many other YouTubers continue to discuss the leaks without facing similar consequences, suggesting the community at large is well aware of the information. The strikes may be targeting only the most sensitive details discussed by CYBER BOI, or may be proportionate to the popularity or viewer count of a given creator.

There is also growing speculation that Rockstar may soon kick off their official GTA 6 marketing campaign. The recent hiring of a Screenshot Capture Artist is seen as a sign that Rockstar is preparing to showcase the game's visuals and begin promotion. The company's aggressive stance against leaks and speculation might be an effort to maintain control over the game's narrative and build anticipation.

While none of this has been officially confirmed, the increasing volume of information surrounding GTA 6 continues to heighten excitement. As the release date approaches, fans can expect more leaks, rumors, and—hopefully—official announcements.
