Grand Theft Auto 6 has set an unprecedented record by having the most-liked YouTube trailer in history. This milestone, which encompasses both gaming and movie trailers, is a clear indication of the immense hype that surrounds Rockstar Games' upcoming release.

The GTA 6 trailer, since its release, has made a significant impact across various platforms, a showcase of the widespread appeal of the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

The trailer, which showcases a return to the iconic Vice City setting, has garnered just under 11 million likes and a little more than 153 million views on YouTube. This latest achievement surpasses the previous record holder, the Bollywood movie, Dil Bechara, which has 10,862,715 likes.

The GTA 6 trailer now stands at 10,966,488 likes, outperforming major films such as Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: No Way Home, which have less than 10 million likes each.

Several factors play into the success of the official GTA 6 trailer. Perhaps the biggest is the smorgasbord of details that Rockstar snuck into it, which have become the topic of discussion all over the internet.

Furthermore, Rockstar and its reputation for delivering high-quality, immersive gaming experiences has contributed to the heightened anticipation for GTA 6.

GTA 6's virality all but guarantees that Rockstar will be setting a newer and higher bar for others to try and clear.

This record-setting achievement is not limited to YouTube; the trailer's release also made a significant impact on social media. Rockstar's announcement post about the trailer became the most-liked gaming tweet ever, further emphasizing the game's potential impact upon its scheduled release in 2025.

PC users, however, may have to wait longer, with the game unlikely to arrive on the platform before 2026 or 2027.

The GTA 6 trailer itself is a showcase of modern gaming technology, featuring breathtaking graphics and a reimagined Vice City. Ex-Rockstar developers have suggested that the final game's visuals will be on par with, or potentially even superior to, what is shown in the trailer.

The trailer's blend of real-life events and satire, a hallmark of the GTA series, offers intriguing glimpses into the game's world and storyline.

Unfortunately, as GTA 6's trailer continues to set new records, it makes for a bittersweet knowing that we're celebrating the success of a game that is still several years away from its release.

Perhaps the best part about the GTA 6 trailer is that it's still the same unapologetic franchise we've all come to love.

Thankfully, Rockstar is doing an excellent job keeping fans occupied in the meantime. The latest GTA Online update has brought back a familiar face for age-old GTA fans to interact with. Not only that, but Rockstar's collaboration with Netflix now allows subscribers to the platform free access to the remasters of three classic PS2-era entries.

Between these and what's likely going to be more GTA-related releases and updates going forward, the wait for GTA 6 will be a little less agonizing.
