The HD Universe is Rockstar North's official name for the shared canonic universe of the Grand Theft Auto franchise starting with Grand Theft Auto 4.
The HD Universe is the third canonical universe in the series. It follows the 2D Universe and the 3D Universe.
Rockstar North confirmed the name via the Rockstar Games Newswire.
So far, the HD Universe consists of Grand Theft Auto 4 and its expansions, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, Grand Theft Auto 5, Grand Theft Auto Online, and Grand Theft Auto 6.
