You can't say that Take-Two Interactive CEO, Strauss Zelnick, lacks confidence.

According to the head of Rockstar Games' parent company, the GTA 6 leak from September will not affect the game's development.

The recent GTA 6 leak is one of the biggest in gaming history. The info dump contained 90 videos and screenshots taken directly from an early in-development build of GTA 6. The leak didn't help anybody except for confirming earlier speculations and rumors about GTA 6. But, the most important part is that the leaks didn't harm the development of GTA 6.

Here's what Zelnick said about the leak:

With regards to the leak, it was terribly unfortunate, and we take those sorts of incidents very seriously indeed. There's no evidence that any material assets were taken, which is a good thing, and certainly the leak won't have any influence on development or anything of the sort. But it is terribly disappointing, and causes us to be ever more vigilant on matters relating to cybersecurity.

GTA 6 will have big shoes to fill when it comes out whenever it's out.

In the same earnings call, Take-Two revealed another milestone for Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption.

According to the numbers, the GTA franchise has outsold every other video game franchise outside of Call of Duty, Mario, Tetris, and Pokemon, with 385 million units sold. To no one's surprise, close to half are from GTA 5 with 170 million units sold. The sales figures of the Red Dead Redemption series also went up by a couple of million to 70 million worldwide.

GTA 5's numbers set a high bar for GTA 6 to try and vault over. GTA 5 holds the record for the fastest entertainment product to reach one billion dollars in retail sales in history, which it achieved in three days. Despite its age, Rockstar Games continues to update GTA 6 with patches and updates. The latest gives players another reason to jump in and organize heists with their friends.
