From GTA BOOM Wiki

It appears that GTA Online's summer update is bringing more than just new missions with a necklace from the GTA 6 trailer now in the game.

Ever before Rockstar Games confirmed Grand Theft Auto 6 and released a trailer (with a release window), fans have long speculated that the developers were using Grand Theft Auto Online to test certain features for the upcoming sequel.

There's never been definitive proof of this happening — until now.

The source? Rockstar themselves.

After much teasing, Rockstar rolled out this year's big summer update for GTA Online, Bottom Dollar Bounties, last week and it opened Pandora's box to a hodgepodge of complaints, new content, unwanted fixes, and much more.

Between all the noise, one particularly observant fan noticed something interesting. u/DogWifDreads notes the necklace seen in the official GTA 6 trailer that was being worn by a female NPC wearing a bikini has just been added to the game.

If you'd like to see it yourself, the "Silver Layered Necklace" is available at Ponsonbys, an in-game version of French fashion house Givenchy.

It makes sense for Rockstar to test out features in GTA Online given that this is technically its purpose.

As previously mentioned, this isn't the first time players speculated that Rockstar had been using GTA Online to test content that may or may not come to GTA 6. But, without proof, most could only throw whatever theories they had on the wall to see if it stuck.

For example, many believe that the new Bounty Targets and Dispatch Work content for GTA Online is a variation of the scrapped Cops 'n' Crooks that Rockstar dropped because of the controversies surrounding the death of George Floyd.

Every now and then, someone comes in to debunk all the guesswork and help people move on, like what happened when someone thought that Rockstar had begun backporting GTA 6-exclusive vehicles to GTA 5.

However, the uncanny resemblance does prove that Rockstar has added at least one GTA 6 asset to GTA Online. Are there more? Possibly. We'll have to wait and see to find out.

For now, we're just waiting for someone to try and connect the dots by saying that the necklace proves that the lady in the photo is GTA 6's lead female protagonist, Lucia, wearing a disguise as part of one of the game's missions.
