The Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE) is Rockstar Games' proprietary game engine based on the Angel Game Engine.

Rockstar Games and its internal studios has used RAGE to develop video games for desktops and consoles since 2006 following the release of Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis.

RAGE was created by the RAGE Technology Group division of Rockstar San Diego after it was rebranded and acquired in 2002 by Take-Two Interactive. Before this, RAGE was known as the Angel Game Engine (AGE) and it was developed by Angel Studios.

Grand Theft Auto 4 was the first game in the Grand Theft Auto franchise to use RAGE. Subsequent titles, including Grand Theft Auto 5 and Grand Theft Auto Online, used refined and improved versions of RAGE, including the 2022 release for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

The next game in the Grand Theft Auto franchise, Grand Theft Auto 6 will also use RAGE.
