That was fast! We're just one Grand Theft Auto Online update into 2025 and Rockstar Games couldn't seem to wait to be their usual cheeky selves.

After seemingly "trolling" fans about the potential release of a second Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer for what felt like forever in late 2024, Rockstar has now added a familiar-looking vehicle to the massively popular multiplayer mode.

As part of the January 3 GTA Online update [1], Rockstar added 5 new cars to Simeon's Auto Shop showroom, including the Declasse Tulip, a four-door muscle car based on the real-life 1972 Chevrolet Malibu.

What makes this new addition to GTA Online particularly intresting is that it's the same vehicle with a nearly identical paint job as the one that's being driven by the unnamed male protagonist of GTA 6 as shown in the first trailer.

This isn't the first time that Rockstar has homaged GTA 6 assets in GTA Online as a teaser to fan the flames of hype, and it certainly won't be the last.

With GTA 6 scheduled to come out later this year, it only makes sense for Rockstar to continue with its dripfeed of information about the upcoming entry in the best-selling franchise, and what would be a better way to do it than to subtly add upcoming cars into one of its most popular products?

While this tease is pretty on brand for Rockstar, so is the continued silence regarding GTA 6. Although if you're up to getting your hopes slashed, you might want to believe that the car's license plate, which ends with "301", is a hint that the next GTA 6 trailer will be available on January 30.
