Waning Sands is a town featured in Grand Theft Auto 6. It is part of Leonard County, Leonida.
You can see the name of the town briefly in the first GTA 6 trailer and later on the signage of a large shopping mall. The presence of the Leonard County Sheriff police cars also confirm that Waning Sands is in Leonard County.
The name of the town may be partly inspired by the high beach erosion rate that occurs in Broward County, a critical area of erosion as per the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. [1]
