Overtime Rumble Returns to GTA Online with January 16 Update.

Grand Theft Auto Online's latest update brings a thrilling new mission to Los Santos, challenging players to infiltrate the heavily guarded Fort Zancudo military base. Again. Really, you'd think a military base would be locked down tighter especially after a history of break-ins, but at this point GTA Online players just stroll in and out daily.

As part of The Brute Force File, your objective is to sneak past tight security, locate a Scarab tank, and make a daring escape. Successfully completing this week's Priority File will net you increased GTA$ rewards, as usual. The Black Box File introduces a high-stakes mission involving the theft of a Tula plane from a Merryweather barge.

Players who successfully complete this task will unlock the exclusive Merryweather Hoodie, which you'll receive in your account automatically after up to 72 hours of completing the mission.

If covert operations are more right up your alley, Payphone Hits are offering double the rewards from January 16 through January 22. If you haven't partnered with Franklin yet, now's the time to invest in an Agency through the Dynasty 8 Executive website. Veterans can simply give Franklin a call or locate a ringing payphone to jump into these profitable missions.

Perhaps most excting of all is the return of Overtime Rumble - this unique game mode tests both your driving and parachuting skills. Until January 22, participating in Overtime Rumble will earn you double GTA$ and RP. Head to the Featured Series marker in Legion Square to dive into the action.

Car enthusiasts have plenty to look forward to this week as well. Simeon Yetarian's Premium Deluxe Motorsport showroom is showcasing an impressive lineup of vehicles, including the Pegassi Esskey motorcycle and the Gallivanter Baller LE SUV at half price. For those with more expensive tastes, the Luxury Autos display in Rockford Hills is featuring the muscular Vapid Dominator GT and the sleek Vapid Aleutian SUV.

Racing aficionados can compete for a chance to win the Vapid Flash GT by placing in the top 3 of LS Car Meet races for four consecutive days. Meanwhile, at Hao's Special Works, you can take the Benefactor Stirling GT for a spin on the test track. GTA+ Members are in for a treat with exclusive perks this week. They can claim a free Vapid Dominator GT, along with the stylish LS Panic Varsity Jacket and Cap.

With so much new content and opportunities to earn extra cash, there's never been a better time to jump into GTA Online if you haven't yet, and if you're a returning player, the latest GTA Online update is another reason to see what the denizens of Los Santos are up to.

Perhaps to no one's surprise though, Rockstar never addressed the lack of a Newswire post last week. Although many speculated that this could've been a precursor for a Grand Theft Auto 6 announcement, it appears Rockstar was simply paying their respects for the hundreds of thousands victimized by the still-ongoing California fires.
